The atmosphere at our Sales Kickoff (SKO) for Fiscal Year 2027 was not merely one of corporate alignment; it was a testament to a shared obsession. As we gathered to chart our course for the next four quarters, the energy in the room underscored a fundamental truth: Matters.AI is no longer just a platform. It is a movement in the data security ecosystem, fueled by a collective belief in the “magic” that happens when vision meets an uncompromising work ethic.
The Genesis of Magic – A Message from our CEO
Our Co-founder and CEO, Keshav Murthy, opened the session by revisiting the spark that ignited this journey. He spoke of an idea; a singular, defiant conviction that the world deserved a more intuitive, robust way to protect its most precious asset: data.
Keshav often says he “believes in magic”, and that magic is the synergy of people who believed in Matters.AI from Day One. It is the alchemy of a team that doesn’t just show up to work, but treats this company as their own baby. Every line of code, every customer interaction, and every strategic pivot is handled with the fierce protectiveness and visionary pride of a founder.
“We have navigated the AI, data, and cybersecurity landscapes for years,” Keshav noted, “but what we have built here, at this speed and with this level of intentionality, is the finest data security platform in the industry.”
As we look toward the next two years, the goal is clear: Scale, Sail, and Sell to the right people. We are not afraid of the friction of growth. The market is hungry for innovation, and perhaps our most significant validation is that the “Goliaths” of the industry now see Matters.AI as a primary competitor. Our voice is growing louder, and our vision is becoming the industry standard.
Better, Stronger, Faster – The CRO’s Mandate
Following Keshav’s visionary call to arms, our CRO, Dhiraj Khare, introduced the theme that will define our FY ’27: Better, Stronger, Faster. This isn’t just a catchy slogan; it is a philosophy rooted in high-performance psychology and strategic dominance. Dhiraj broke down the “Why” behind this trifecta:
1. Better: The Infinite Game
Channeling the wisdom of Simon Sinek, being “Better” isn’t about beating the person next to you; it’s about eclipsing your previous version. We are in a race against our own yesterday, ensuring that our lineage of excellence remains unbroken.
2. Stronger: Expanding the Footprint
To be “Stronger” is to occupy more territory, emotionally and commercially. Dhiraj spoke of that “leaning out” feeling, the conscientious drive that keeps us alert even when we are at dinner, knowing that somewhere, a competitor is trying to take what is ours. We build strength to ensure our presence is undeniable.
3. Faster: The Velocity of Value
In a world defined by AI-driven shifts, speed is our greatest currency. We must “fasten up” every process, from product deployment to customer success, ensuring that our agility remains our greatest competitive advantage.
An Evening of Inspiration with Wing Commander Nirbhay Kumar Mishra (Retd.)
The day-2 started with Golfing classes and welcoming our esteemed partners so to continue to stay on a high note, we were honored to welcome Wing Commander Nirbhay Kumar Mishra (Retd.) as our Guest Speaker. His stories of courage, leading from the front, and performing under the highest stakes resonated deeply with everything we are building at Matters.AI, a timely reminder that the mindset required to cross the chasm is no different from the one that wins in the skies.
Security Beyond the Perimeter: The Panel That Changed the Conversation
Our SKO featured a powerful panel discussion titled Security Beyond the Perimeter: Embracing AI, moderated by Utkarsh (UT), with panelists Jacxine Fernandez, Saravana Kumar, Aamir Hakim, Sathish Eathuraj, and Karan Agarwal bringing years of hard-won experience to the stage. What made this conversation remarkable was its rare operational honesty, no polished narratives, just real challenges from inside real organizations. The central reckoning was clear: AI agents, RAG pipelines, and modern connectors have made the traditional perimeter-based security model a relic of the past. Data moves in ways no firewall was designed to anticipate, and often not maliciously, just invisibly. The panel left us with one truth that cuts to the heart of what we build at Matters.AI: you cannot protect what you cannot see. It was exactly the kind of conversation that sharpens conviction and reminds us why this work matters.
Reflections on FY’26: The Iceberg and the Chasm
Dhiraj also took a moment to reflect on our triumphs in FY’26. We secured partnerships with some of the world’s most recognizable brands, but the road was anything but smooth. He used the Iceberg Metaphor to illustrate our success: the world sees the accolades and the logos, but beneath the surface lies the grit, the late nights, and the relentless pursuit of perfect market fit.
Understanding why products fail is just as important as knowing why they succeed. As we move forward, Dhiraj outlined the three pillars of our internal culture:
- The “How” and the “What”: Absolute clarity on our operational mechanics and our ultimate deliverables.
- The Non-Negotiables: A set of core values we will never sacrifice for short-term gain.
- Hyper-productivity: The art of doing more with focused, intense intentionality.
Crossing the Chasm
The climax of our SKO centered on a singular challenge: Crossing the Chasm. We have moved past the stage of early adoption. We are now entering the mainstream, where the stakes are higher and the scrutiny is more intense. To win, we must jump with both feet, leaving behind the safety of the known to embrace the scale of the “Awesome”.
The market expects greatness from us. Our competitors are watching us. Our customers are counting on us.
As we embark on FY’27, we do so with the confidence of a team that knows its value. We are the owners of this vision. We are the architects of the finest data security platform ever built.
